Huang Feihu and Ji Fa

After Huang Feihu broke out of Chaoge with his retainers, he forced Lintong Pass, Tong Pass, Chuanyun Pass and Jiepai Pass in turn, with his household in the carriages and Shang troops coming up behind him the whole way. When the carriages entered the country of Western Qi, Ji Fa came out of the city in person with his civil and military officers to receive him, and in the hall invested Huang Feihu as the founding King of Martial Achievement with the command of his armies.

Huang Feihu fought for the Zhou camp from then on, first holding Western Qi and then marching east with Jiang Ziya and Ji Fa, meeting his old Shang colleagues and the commanders of the border passes again and again. When the army reached Mianchi, Zhang Kui ambushed the Zhou officers with the earth-travelling art, and Huang Feihu was thrown from his mount and killed without seeing the gates of Chaoge opened.

Ji Fa had his body taken up with full honours and ordered the army east. At the investiture terrace, Jiang Ziya invested Huang Feihu as the Great Emperor of the Eastern Peak, the Benevolent Sage of Mount Tai Equal to Heaven, and his name came back before the Zhou camp once more.
