Tu Xingsun and Deng Chanyu

Tu Xingsun stole Juliusun’s Immortal-Binding Rope and came down to join Deng Jiugong’s camp. Travelling underground into Western Qi he took prisoners and stole goods, and back in camp asked Deng Jiugong for Deng Chanyu as his wife.

Deng Chanyu came out against him with her paired sabres and, wheeling her horse, threw a five-light stone that left his face swollen and bruised, so that the marriage stuck fast in the camp. After Juliusun took him and he went over to Western Qi, Jiang Ziya laid a false-marriage stratagem and brought Deng Jiugong, his daughter and Tu Xingsun into the city together.

Deng Chanyu at first drew her blade and refused, and in the end married Tu Xingsun in the Zhou camp. Husband and wife campaigned east with the army afterwards, until they came below Mianchi.

Sent by Jiang Ziya back to Mount Jialong for the art of turning earth to steel, Tu Xingsun reached Mengshou Cliff and was cut down by Zhang Kui, who had gone ahead to lie in wait. When his head was hung on the wall of Mianchi, Deng Chanyu went out weeping to avenge him, had her eyes blinded by Gao Lanying’s forty-nine sun-god needles, and was killed by her blade.
