Tongtian Jiaozhu founded the seat of the Jie Sect beyond the Eastern Sea and cultivated and taught at the Biyou Palace.
Before he set out the Zhuxian Sword Formation, Tongtian Jiaozhu took in disciples widely, asking nothing of birth or origin: birds, beasts, plants and trees that had taken human shape could all enter his gate.
Duobao Daoren, Jinling Shengmu, Wudang Shengmu and Guiling Shengmu entered Tongtian Jiaozhu’s house one after another as inner disciples of the Biyou Palace.
Wen Zhong had taken Jinling Shengmu as his master in his early years and returned to Shang when his training was done, serving two reigns. When Western Qi raised its army he took the field as Grand Preceptor and called in his fellow Jie disciples along the road.
Zhao Gongming, the ladies Yunxiao, Qiongxiao and Bixiao, the Ten Heavenly Lords and other Jie disciples came down one after another to help Shang against the Zhou army.
The Jie disciples died one after another against the Chan Sect and the Western Qi army, and when Tongtian Jiaozhu learned how they had been cut down he grew angry in the Biyou Palace.
After Guangchengzi killed Huoling Shengmu he brought the golden coronet three times into the Biyou Palace to return it. Guiling Shengmu and others chased him outside and laid the quarrel before Tongtian, who then ordered the four Zhuxian swords brought out.
Tongtian Jiaozhu had Jinling Shengmu fetch the Zhuxian, Luxian, Xianxian and Juexian swords and gave them to Duobao Daoren to set out the Zhuxian Formation at Jiepai Pass.
Laozi, Yuanshi, Jieyin and Zhunti all entered the Zhuxian Formation and fought Tongtian Jiaozhu on his kui-ox, while Guangchengzi and three others took the moment to lift away the four swords, and the Zhuxian Formation was broken.
Tongtian Jiaozhu then gathered a great many of his disciples and set the Taiji, Two Principles and Four Symbols stations within a further array, the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation.
In that formation the twenty-eight lodges, the nine luminaries and many Jie disciples fought the three teachings and the Western Qi side before its gates.
As the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation broke, Jinling Shengmu and many disciples were killed, Wudang Shengmu left the array first, Changer Dingguang Xian carried the Six-Soul Banner over to the reed pavilion, and Jieyin swept up three thousand guests of the red dust with his qiankun bag.
Tongtian withdrew below the hills with two or three hundred wandering immortals, meaning to set earth, water, fire and wind in motion again. Hongjun came, dismissed them, ordered Tongtian to the reed pavilion to be reconciled with Laozi and Yuanshi, and then took him away.
