The story of Qiankun Ring and Red Armillary Sash

Nezha was born with the Qiankun Ring on his arm and the Red Armillary Sash about his waist. When Taiyi Zhenren took him as a disciple, he left both with him at Chentang Pass to carry as he pleased.

Bathing in the Nine-Bend River, Nezha shook out the Red Armillary Sash, and the red silk stirred the water so that the dragon palace of the Eastern Sea shook. The yaksha Li Gen came ashore to look and was struck dead by the Qiankun Ring, and Ao Bing died under it afterwards.

After Nezha had cut away his flesh for his parents, Taiyi Zhenren rebuilt his body from lotus and a golden elixir. The Qiankun Ring and the Red Armillary Sash came back into the hands of the lotus body, and he took up the fire-tipped spear and came down the mountain.

On the Investiture battlefield Nezha would first throw the Qiankun Ring into the air to strike an enemy officer, then bind him or shield himself with the Red Armillary Sash. The two went with him through the Ten Absolutes, Sishui Pass and the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation.

After Shang fell and Zhou rose, Nezha did not enter the Investiture List. He took leave of King Wu with the Qiankun Ring, the Red Armillary Sash and his other treasures, and left the armies of the human world with Li Jing, Jinzha and Muzha.
