The story of Immortal-Slaying Flying Blade

When Luya Daoren came to the Western Qi army he carried a red gourd at his waist. It stayed stoppered in the ordinary way, and he took it down and lifted the lid only against an enemy he could not otherwise master.

A white light rose out of the gourd, and above it appeared a small shape with brows and eyes. Luya bowed to the light first and then said, “Treasure, turn about,” and the brightness went round the neck of the enemy officer.

When Yu Yuan had been taken and could be hurt by neither blade nor spear nor thunder nor fire, Juliusun put him into the ruyi qiankun bag and sent him to Western Qi. Luya lent the Immortal-Slaying Flying Blade, and Jiang Ziya beheaded Yu Yuan by his formula.

Before Jinji Ridge, Luya loosed the flying blade at Kong Xuan. The Five-Coloured Divine Light spread from Kong Xuan’s back and caught the blade before it could close, and Luya had to take back the gourd and withdraw.

When the Investiture war ended, Luya was given no office on the roll. He tied the gourd back at his waist, turned into a long rainbow and left the Zhou camp, and the Immortal-Slaying Flying Blade went with its master out of sight.
