Huang Tianhua and Qingxu Daode Zhenjun

Huang Tianhua was three years old and playing in the garden of the King of Martial Achievement when Qingxu Daode Zhenjun carried him off to the Ziyang Cave on Mount Qingfeng, where he stayed thirteen years. Qingxu taught him the sword and the riding of the qilin and gave him the Moye Sword, the Fire-Dragon Dart and the Heart-Piercing Nails one after another.

When Huang Feihu broke out of Chaoge and his carriages were surrounded on the pass road, Qingxu sent Huang Tianhua down to save his father, master and disciple agreeing that he would return when it was done. Huang Tianhua acknowledged his father before the lines, escorted the household into Zhou, and returned to the cave as he had promised; when the Investiture war began again he was sent to Western Qi once more.

In one engagement he was struck from his mount, and Qingxu, learning of it on the mountain, sent a boy to bring him back and refitted his treasures. At Jinji Ridge, Huang Tianhua died under Gao Jineng’s spear and his soul went to the investiture terrace; Qingxu stayed with the Zhou army through the fighting that followed, and master and disciple never met at the Ziyang Cave again.
