Jinzha and Wenshu Guangfa Tianzun

Having left Chentang Pass, Jinzha took Wenshu Guangfa Tianzun as his master at the Yunxiao Cave on Mount Wulong. Wenshu taught him the sword and the Dragon-Binding Stake and handed on the method of its three golden rings.

When the four sages met the Western Qi army, Wenshu sent Jinzha down to help Zhou; Jinzha entered the camp, bound enemy officers with the stake, and returned to the Yunxiao Cave to report when the fighting was over. As the Investiture war widened, Wenshu and the other Golden Immortals entered the Ten Absolutes and the Zhuxian Formation, and Jinzha returned to the Zhou camp and marched east with Jiang Ziya.

Whenever his master’s house set a great array, Jinzha would first go before Wenshu’s tent for orders; once the immortals had dispersed he went back to guard the mortal army’s centre. When the battle for Chaoge was over he returned his commission and left the Shang–Zhou field with Wenshu.
