When Zhunti Daoren came from the west to the Investiture battlefield he usually carried the Seven-Treasure Wondrous Tree. Its branches were refined from gold, silver, crystal and other treasures, and when its leaves opened they threw out light of many colours.
When Kong Xuan blocked the Zhou army with the Five-Coloured Divine Light and swept away weapons and officers one after another, Zhunti came to Jinji Ridge and met him, holding off the light with the Seven-Treasure Wondrous Tree, and then showed his dharma-body and took him.
When the Zhuxian Formation opened, Zhunti entered one of its four gates with Taiqing, Yuanshi and Jieyin. Tongtian met them with drawn sword, and Zhunti raised the tree and brushed at the sword-light, buying the other three the moment they needed to take the four blades.
In the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation the Jie disciples charged in ranks at the followers of the west. Zhunti raised the wondrous tree again, its light swept the front of the array, and several weapons left their owners’ hands and fell into the brightness.
When the great formation had scattered, Zhunti left the central lands with Kong Xuan and the disciples he had taken into the west. The Seven-Treasure Wondrous Tree went back with him to the western seat and stayed no longer with the Shang and Zhou armies.
