Dijun and Hetu and Luoshu

The star-points, quarters and number-orders on the two documents shifted with the courses of sun and moon, and Dijun watched the signs of the sky by them and used them to hide his own workings and to work out formations. After Dijun and Donghuang Taiyi had founded the Yao Heavenly Court, they entered the positions of all the stars of the world into the Hetu and Luoshu one by one, and Taiyi held the central palace with the Chaos Bell while the demon hosts took up star banners and set out the Zhou-Heaven Star Formation.

In the Wu–Yao war, Dijun stood within the array and unrolled the two documents, and the starlight of the vault came down onto the land along the tracks marked on them. In the last battle the Twelve Capital Gods and Demons Formation drew out Pangu’s true body, and the Zhou-Heaven Star Formation collapsed as Dijun and Taiyi fell one after the other.

The Hetu and Luoshu slipped from Dijun’s hands in the confusion. Later Honghuang works usually have Fuxi obtain the two documents and set out the eight trigrams on the riverbank by the points and lines on them, and then take them into the seat of humankind.
