While the Zhou army was held at Jinji Ridge, Kong Xuan had already swept up the officers’ treasures with the Five-Coloured Divine Light, and whip, sword, mirror and pearl all vanished at one fall of the five colours outside the camp gate. Luya came to the Zhou camp along a rainbow and went out to meet Kong Xuan the next day.
The two exchanged several passes before their horses, and then Luya took a step back, opened the gourd on his back, and a thing with brows and eyes appeared inside it, two white beams shining from them. Before he could make his bow, the five colours behind Kong Xuan had already swept forward together.
Seeing the light closing over gourd and man alike, Luya took the flying blade in, turned into a streak of fire, and withdrew over the pass wall to the west. Kong Xuan, unable to sweep him down, stood before the pass and called for Jiang Ziya to send another; and Luya never met the Five-Coloured Divine Light head-on again.
