Jinzha and Nezha

Jinzha was the eldest son of the Li house of Chentang Pass and had left home for Mount Wulong years before, so that he was not at Chentang Pass when Nezha was born, made trouble at the sea and was rebuilt from lotus. Only after the Investiture war began, when Jinzha came to Western Qi at Wenshu’s order, did he meet in the Zhou camp the brother who had become Taiyi Zhenren’s disciple.

Jinzha carried the Dragon-Binding Stake and Nezha the fire-tipped spear, the Qiankun Ring and the Red Armillary Sash, and the two went out by different gates and returned together to the centre to report. Li Jing and Muzha afterwards joined the camp, and father and three sons went through the five passes with the army.

On the eastern march Jinzha and Nezha guarded Jiang Ziya’s carriage together and pursued separately the Shang commanders who fled by water and by air. After the Zhou army entered Chaoge the brothers each returned to his own master and did not stay in the Zhou court for a fief.
