Wudang Shengmu

Wudang Shengmu entered Tongtian Jiaozhu’s gate and attended at the Biyou Palace with Duobao Daoren, Jinling Shengmu and Guiling Shengmu. When the Jie disciples gathered to take counsel her name too stood among Tongtian’s close disciples.

After the Zhuxian Formation was broken, Tongtian Jiaozhu sent word again and called the immortals from beyond the sea to set out the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation. Wudang Shengmu entered it with her treasures and waited beneath the banners with the rest.

The four sect-heads led their people into the formation, and Duobao, Jinling, Guiling and others went out to meet them in turn. Investiture of the Gods gives Wudang Shengmu no opponent of her own and does not record any treasure she raised inside it.

The gates of the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation were broken one after another; Jie disciples died on the field, were taken away by the Western Sect, or broke out and scattered. Seeing the formation past saving, Wudang Shengmu left first.

Tongtian Jiaozhu afterwards gathered what was left of his followers and was then summoned by Hongjun to Zixiao Palace. Wudang Shengmu never returned to the field, and the book does not write her leaving with Tongtian.

When Jiang Ziya read the roll at the investiture terrace, Wudang Shengmu’s name was not on it. Investiture of the Gods stops with her departure from the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation; later claims about who she was and where she went are outside the book’s story.
