Heaven’s-Way tier / Merged with the Dao

Hongjun obtained a shard of the Jade Butterfly of Creation about the end of the Longhan calamity and the war of Dao and demon, and founded Zixiao Palace in the depths of the chaos. When the three sermons ended he divided the saintly seats and the treasures and called the six future saints before him.

When the saints had attained the Dao, Hongjun merged himself into Heaven’s Way and no longer walked the world merely as an immortal in a body. The calamities of heaven and earth, the saintly seats and the turning of each great calamity were joined to his dharma-body after that merging.

At the end of the Investiture war, when the Three Pure Ones meant to fight again outside the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation, Hongjun came down to the field in person, took Taiqing, Yuanshi and Tongtian back to Zixiao Palace, and stopped their quarrel with a pill.

Honghuang works call a being who can take part directly in the working of Heaven’s Way a figure of the Heaven’s-Way tier, or one who has merged with the Dao. This rung usually lists Hongjun alone, while Heaven’s Way itself appears as the order of the world rather than as an ordinary character.
